Greenwood & Boundary morning check: orange smoke warning continues as one nearby wildfire map point improves
Sunday’s official-source pull keeps the smoke warning active but adds one useful wildfire-map improvement. The DriveBC / Environment Canada regional weather feed still shows an orange air-quality warning for both Grand Forks and Rock Creek. The forecast calls for widespread smoke today and tonight, with a high near 31 C today and widespread smoke again Monday with southwest wind gusting to 40 km/h early in the afternoon.
The DriveBC / BC Wildfire map feed also changed one nearby status: N61201, about 67.8 km from Greenwood, moved from Out of Control to Being Held while remaining listed at 8.5 ha. N61319 remains the closest Out of Control map point found in the under-90 km pull, about 41.6 km from Greenwood and listed at 29.69 ha. None of the nearest checked entries were marked wildfire of note in the API response.
No official Boundary-region evacuation order or alert was found in the DriveBC emergency-alert API or the EmergencyInfoBC text pull this morning. EmergencyInfoBC continued to list wildfire emergency material elsewhere in B.C., including Okanagan, Thompson-Nicola, Cariboo and Central Kootenay items; that is regional context, not a Greenwood, Midway, Grand Forks, Rock Creek, Christina Lake or Boundary evacuation notice.
