Greenwood & Boundary morning check: smoke warning renewed; new wildfire map points appear

The Grand Forks and Rock Creek DriveBC/Environment Canada regional feed still shows a yellow air-quality warning, newly issued Tuesday July 28 at 07:05 UTC, with local smoke, a high near 31 C, very-high UV and southwest wind gusting to 50 km/h forecast today.
No official Boundary-region evacuation order or alert was found on EmergencyInfoBC or in the DriveBC emergency-alert API this morning. Nearby wildfire records below are map-layer monitoring points; they are not evacuation notices and should not be treated as instructions by themselves.
What changed since Monday
- Weather: the air-quality warning remains active for the Grand Forks/Rock Creek feed. Today’s forecast says sunny with local smoke, high 31 C, UV index 8 or very high, and wind becoming southwest 30 km/h gusting to 50 this morning.
- Closest wildfire map entries: N61190 remains the closest checked DriveBC / BC Wildfire map entry, about 22.7 km from Greenwood and marked Under Control. N61150, N61067 and N61179 were also under control in the 35-to-37 km range. N61216 remains Being Held about 37.1 km away.
- Status improvements: N61210, about 43.0 km away, is now marked Under Control; N61222, about 50.3 km away, is also now marked Under Control. Both were more cautious watch items in recent briefs.
- New or continuing watch items: N61218 remains Out of Control about 45.6 km away. Three July 27 map entries now appear in the broader local watch area: N61278 about 49.4 km away, N61281 about 49.6 km away and N61280 about 52.8 km away, all marked Out of Control. - Highway 3 / Paulson: DriveBC still lists paving between Paulson Bridge and Paulson Cross Country Recsite, about 46 km from Greenwood, with single-lane alternating traffic until July 30.
- Other regional roads: the automated pull also returned Highway 3B Rossland/Nancy Greene Summit construction, Trail bridge maintenance through July 29, Osoyoos-area Highway 3 ditching, and a Highway 1 wildfire closure far outside the Boundary that points travellers to Highway 3 or Highway 5 as alternate routes.
