Saturday’s new civic item is a posted eSCRIBE entry for a Thursday, Sept. 10 Special Council Meeting. The agenda says the meeting was scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in Council Chamber and includes an in-camera item under Community Charter section 90(1)(c), described as labour relations or other employee relations.

That agenda is a public notice of the meeting topic category, not a public outcome. Ledge is not treating it as proof of any resignation, appointment, discipline, fire-department leadership change or staff decision. The publishable fact this morning is narrower: a special in-camera labour/employee-relations meeting is now visible in the public calendar, and outcomes still require minutes, a City statement, a public motion record or a named on-record source.

The election watch also moves from nomination-deadline day to list-watch. The City election page and candidate package remain public, but this morning’s City page pull did not show an accepted candidate list. Safety feeds stayed steady: no active Grand Forks/Rock Creek weather-warning object, no DriveBC emergency-alert item, no Boundary evacuation item found in the EmergencyInfoBC text pull, and all under-100-km wildfire-map records near Greenwood were listed Under Control.

The Sept. 10 Special Council agenda is important because it confirms council had a closed-session labour/employee-relations item after the Sept. 8 Committee and Regular Council meetings. It does not confirm what was discussed, who was involved, or what was decided.

That distinction matters for the fire-hall and emergency-services beat. Community questions about fire department leadership and readiness remain worth following, but Ledge needs one of these before stating a concrete personnel development: minutes, video, an open-session resolution, an official City/fire-service notice, a public staff report, or a named source prepared to be quoted.

The City election page says Greenwood’s 2026 general local election is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, with one mayor and four councillors to be elected, voting at McArthur Centre and advance voting on Wednesday, Oct. 7. The City page lists Sept. 1-11 as the nomination period and Sept. 19 as the campaign-period start.
