Greenwood Founders Day brings pancakes, parade and a full Saturday on Main Street

By Ledge Community Desk · Source notes: Boundary Country event listing; Boundary Country BC public Facebook post and comments viewed July 16, 2026.

Greenwood’s Founders Day celebration is set for Saturday, July 18, 2026, with a full day of community activity planned in Canada’s smallest city.

The official Boundary Country event listing describes the celebration as running 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and says Founders Day is held at Lions Park along Highway 3. The listing says the day includes a pancake breakfast, parade, vendors, gold panning, pie eating, live entertainment, a beer garden, a 50/50 draw and other community activities.

Parade route, setup and timing

A Greenwood Founders Day 2026 parade-route poster shared with Ledge lists the key Saturday parade details:

A Boundary Country BC public Facebook post says visitors can “watch the parade as it floats by.” In a public comment on the post, Boundary Country BC described the event as Saturday July 18, 2026, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. down the main street.

Ledge route note: several small street names on the poster are hard to read at image resolution, but the clear public instructions are: set up at 10 a.m. in the free parking lot across from McArthur Centre; parade starts at 11 a.m.; route runs through Greenwood’s main street/Copper Avenue area and ends near Greenwood Ball Park. Residents and visitors should watch for traffic control and organizer directions downtown Saturday morning.
