The resident question

Please don't forget to ask about the reservoir replacement and water delivery system (pipes, valves, etc), since (as I understand it) the roads can't be fixed until the pipes are fixed and a grant to fix the pipes won't be available until the reservoir project is done. (Please correct my question if I have details wrong.)

Additional resident follow-up: Anaconda pipe risk

In discussion with a former City works manager I am led to believe that Anaconda's water supply is delivered through a wooden pipe... The city has sleeved wooden pipes by pulling HDPE pipes through them... This is a far less expensive maintenance action than waiting for the pipe to fail and having to excavate a trench across the highway...

Resident-supplied lead: Tony Aldridge reported being told by a former City works manager that Anaconda’s water supply may involve a wooden pipe and that HDPE sleeving could be less expensive than emergency excavation. Ledge has not verified those specific claims in public records yet. Public records reviewed so far do mention water main breaks and a Highway 3 repair related to a water main break, but not the specific Anaconda/wooden-pipe/HDPE claim.

What is the current status, timeline and funding plan for Greenwood’s water reservoir replacement and the water delivery system, including pipes, valves, leak detection and water-main repairs? Can candidates clarify whether road repairs are being sequenced behind underground pipe work, and whether any future grants for pipe or road work depend on completing the reservoir project first?

Anaconda water supply, wooden pipe and HDPE sleeving

Can candidates and current council clarify whether Anaconda’s water supply includes an older wooden pipe or other aging line, whether the City has considered or used HDPE sleeving/pull-through repair methods, whether any crossing of Highway 3 is involved, and what the cost/risk comparison is between proactive maintenance and waiting for a failure?
